I’m the courts reporter at The Baltimore Banner, where I cover cases in Baltimore Circuit Court and the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City and other issues in the criminal legal system.

I've reported on topics including the challenges that exonerees face in receiving compensation for wrongful convictions along with new laws that provide second chances for people who've served decades in prison.

I took a deep dive into the district court commissioner system in Maryland and how anyone can file for criminal charges without input from police or prosecutors. The coverage was recognized in the 2026 Livingston Awards for Young Journalists, 2026 American Bar Association Silver Gavel Awards and 2026 MDDC Press Association Awards.

Earlier, I was a reporter at the York (Pa.) Daily Record/Sunday News, where I worked for 7 1/2 years after graduating summa cum laude from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast and digital journalism in December 2014.

I investigated topics such as law enforcement tactics in undercover prostitution stings, which led to at least three police departments in York County changing their policies.

I exposed how a former Boy Scouts leader testified before a grand jury that he sexually abused 16-18 people — and then went to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to shield his identity.

And I took an in-depth look at United Fiber & Data, a telecommunications startup in York tied to members of the multi-platinum-selling rock band Live that boasted it would create more than 300 jobs and generate in excess of $2 billion in state tax revenue in 30 years in Pennsylvania — but has not yet lived up to its own hype.

My work for investigative, enterprise and beat reporting was recognized in the Professional Keystone Media Awards as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association Media Awards. I was a finalist in the 2020 Livingston Awards for Young Journalists.

Prior to moving to York, Pennsylvania, I was an intern on the city desk of The Philadelphia Daily News in summer 2014. I also completed an internship in summer 2013 at CBS-3 (KYW-TV) in Philadelphia.
